What you will be doing:
- Consistently offer professional friendly and proactive guest service and supporting fellow colleagues
- Able to interpret a BEO and execute
- Strong knowledge of quantities needed for service and upcoming volumes
- Can identify any ergonomic issues or hazards in kitchen and seek guidance on how to remedy
- Responsible for checking daily prep lists and supplies to ensure efficient work and recipes are being followed
- Adaptable to frequent changes due to guest request or changes to procedures
- Assist in the preparation and service of all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards
- Knowledgeable with current allergies/intolerances procedures
- Maintain full knowledge of all menu items daily features and promotions
- Maintaining and ordering stocks and supplies
- Able to logically work through issues and come up with solutions in a timely manner
- Actively communicates any deficiencies spotted in kitchen to supervisor for guidance
- Effectively communicates with FOH
- Adhere to and follow all safety & sanitation policies and procedures
- Can work out the ergonomics of line and kitchen flow for food and execution and make necessary changes
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications :
Your experience and skills include:
- 3rd year Apprentice or Red Seal qualified would be an asset
- Work experience in different stations of the kitchen
- Knowledge of preparation and safe food handling procedures
- Career minded individual with ambitions for advancement and passion for learning
- Able to work in a highpressure environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
- A valid BC Food Safe certification
