To be successful in this role you should:
- Food preparation for breakfast lunch dinner room service functions and buffet service.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment whilst ensuring a product of high quality and presentation standards.
- Prepare and ensure availability of mis en place as required.
- Ensure strict stock rotation and minimum wastage whereby you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining stock control procedures.
- Keep all working areas clean and tidy. Ensure all equipment is maintained serviced and cleaned. Report any problems to the Executive Chef.
- Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair within the cost margins specified by the hotel.
- Check all food is stored and handled correctly as per current food health and hygiene regulations.
Qualifications :
- Trade qualification in Cookery and experience in a similar role preferably within a hotel environment.
- Detailfocused with the ability to deliver consistently highquality food under pressure
- Energetic and proactive with enthusiasm to develop your culinary expertise
- A team player who easily builds rapport with colleagues and guests alike
- Time management skills with the ability to multitask
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members
- Flexible availability to work a rotating roster including weekends and public holidays
