Job Description
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for fitout and residential design projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to inform project planning.
- Monitor project progress managing costs and ensuring projects are completed within budget.
- Liaise with clients architects and contractors to provide costrelated advice and support.
- Review and analyze tender documents and contracts ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices and terms.
- Prepare and submit interim and final accounts ensuring all financial records are maintained.
- Collaborate with project managers and design teams to provide financial insights and support decisionmaking.
- Conduct site visits to assess progress and address any financial discrepancies.
- Stay updated on market trends material costs and regulations affecting the construction and interior design sectors.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying Construction Management or related field.
- Minimum 35 years of experience in quantity surveying preferably within the interior design or fitout sector.
- Strong understanding of construction methods materials and regulations.
- Proficient in cost estimation software and MS OJice Suite.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of local market trends and supplier networks in Malaysia.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes and regulations.
- Experience in residential projects and an understanding of client needs in this sector.
- Ability to converse in Mandarin and connections with vendors based in China is a plus point.
