Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Australian Management Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accurate financial insights supporting business strategy and ensuring compliance with Australian accounting standards and tax regulations. This role involves budgeting forecasting and preparing management reports to help guide strategic decisionmaking.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly Management Accounts: Prepare and present monthly management accounts including Profit & Loss (P&L) statements balance sheet and cash flow reports.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with department managers to develop monitor and update annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct detailed variance analysis to explain differences between actual and budgeted financial results providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Business Performance Analysis: Analyze business performance and deliver actionable insights to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
- Cost Management: Perform cost analysis and recommend strategies for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Compliance & Taxation: Ensure compliance with ATO regulations including GST BAS PAYG and FBT requirements. Support payrollrelated compliance tasks.
- MonthEnd & YearEnd Closing: Oversee monthend and yearend financial closing processes ensuring accuracy and adherence to timelines.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports for internal stakeholders and external parties supporting senior management with critical decisionmaking.
- Audit Assistance: Assist with the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits ensuring smooth and timely audits.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow and recommend strategies for effective cash and working capital management.
- Statutory Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of statutory financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB).
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to align financial planning with business objectives and priorities.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor s degree in Accounting
Certifications: CPA is required.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in management accounting ideally within an Australian context.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of Australian tax regulations including GST BAS PAYG and FBT. Knowledge of relevant accounting software (e.g. MYOB Xero QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
