Job Summary: The Underground Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all underground activities across multiple construction sites according to project blueprints and schedules. This includes managing crews performing quality control and safety checks and providing onsite direction during site preparation. In collaboration with the General Superintendent and Electrical Superintendent the Underground Superintendent directly supervises the majority of underground foremen to ensure effective crew leadership timely project completion and adequate resource allocation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple underground foremen and crews ensuring adherence to work schedules project progress and resource allocation.
- Estimate staffing requirements based on project plans and assign work accordingly.
- Schedule labor and equipment according to project needs.
- Collaborate with clients Project Managers and other construction management to determine schedules.
- Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers.
- Create schedules for underground crews workers and subcontractors.
- Maintain daily project reports and logs for job site operations reporting to management as necessary.
- Implement operational changes as needed to meet construction deadlines.
- Employ costeffective and efficient management techniques.
- Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
- Supervise the efficient use and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure they remain within budget.
- Resolve problems as they arise.
- Manage and verify line locations before the start of work.
