Job Description
Assist in the daily management and monitoring of backup systems.
Perform data backups and restores based on company policies and procedures.
Learn and execute basic backup procedures including scheduling reporting and troubleshooting.
Monitor system alerts and assist in resolving issues related to failed or incomplete backups.
Work with various backup tools and technologies (e.g. Veeam IBM Spectrum Protect NetBackup etc.) under supervision.
Support the senior engineers in ensuring backup systems are configured for optimal performance.
Document backup processes and maintain accurate records of backups and restores.
Ensure compliance with data retention policies and IT security guidelines.
Assist in testing disaster recovery plans and procedures.
Participate in team meetings and provide feedback to improve backup processes.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field (or equivalent certification).
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure including servers storage and networking.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Linux) and databases (SQL Oracle) is a plus.
- Eagerness to learn backup tools like Veeam Commvault or others.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
- Attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards learning.
