Job Description
Do you want to contribute in one of the most exciting international scientific projects and make a meaningful contribution to advancing humanitys understanding of the universe
Among other projects you will have the opportunity to participate in building the worlds largest radio telescope!
As a Systems Architect you lead the architecture design development and integration of highperformance systems within the project. You are responsible for ensuring the seamless operation and scalability of the systems used in the telescopes data processing and signal detection functionalities.
Tasks
This includes tasks like:
- Overseeing the integration of hardware and software components to ensure seamless system performance.
- Collaborating with crossfunctional teams including software developers hardware engineers integration and test engineers and project managers to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and technical success.
- Ensuring quality support testing and validation processes so that systems meet the requirements of the project.
- Monitoring and optimizing system performance scalability and reliability.
- Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers within the project team and broader team.
- Keeping up with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies in embedded systems particularly in radio telescopy and signal processing.
Requirements
- BSc or MSc degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering Systems Engineering or a related field;
- 10 years of experience of which a minimum 5 years of experience as a system architect;
- Experience with largescale highperformance systems;
- Knowledge of signal processing realtime systems and radio frequency (RF) technologies is highly desirable; Understanding of systems architecture including hardware and software integration;
- Familiarity with Agile project management SAFe is highly valued;
- Experience working with interdisciplinary teams in a collaborative environment;
- Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work in a fastpaced dynamic environment;
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal in English (Dutch is a plus).
