About the role:
National Coordinator is responsible to design and drive capacity development programs in Disaster Risk Reduction and Disaster Response across all RFDM locations.
Roles & Responsibility
- Identify Capacity strengthening needs and Provide technical handholding support to RF Staff Disaster Response volunteers and community based networks.
- Identify sectoral needs in Programs liaise with experts and coordinate to mobilise technical inputs to field programme.
- Liaise with different Government agencies working on capacity development initiatives and leverage support for capacity development programs in DRR.
- Ensure active involvement and participation of different stakeholders and partners in all trainings and capacity development activities
- Support the generation and dissemination of training modules and knowledge products
- Support the training activities related to CBDRR early warning livelihoods.
- Demonstrate good knowledge of sphere minimum standards livestock emergency guidelines standards and other key response and DRR guidelines.
- Incorporate gender and diversity issues consistently across RFs Disaster management program paying special attention to gender across all components of the program including gender analysis gender equality promotion empowerment of women and girls.
- Provide Post ToT offsite and onsite technical handholding to trainers.
- Guide and supervise DRR and response volunteers and ensure that training needs are met.
- Monitor emergency alerts and support disaster response programs.
Key Stakeholders/ Collaborators
- Establish Community based networks including ASHA ANM ParaVets etc.
- NGOs CBOs Youths and early warning volunteers.
- RFDM staff and Disaster Response volunteers from Reliance ecosystem.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Include Additional Certification Required if any
- Post Graduation in Disaster Management /Climate Change / Environmental Science / Natural Resource Management / Minimum 5 years of experience in working with Disaster Management Sector (especially in rural areas)
- Experience in managing capacity development programs in Disaster response & Disaster Risk Reduction.
- Knowledge of global and national guidelines and standards in Disaster Management.
Other Requirements
- Exposure to community mobilization and social development linked to health and disaster preparedness programs
- Experience in training and use of participatory methodologies
- Experience of working in both emergencies and DRR context.
- Fair knowledge in following thematic areas is desirable:
- Livestock in emergencies guidelines and standards (LEGS)
- Sphere minimum standards
- Gender in emergencies
- Public health risk management with focus on WASH Menstrual Hygiene Management etc.
- Knowledge of tools in CBDRR Community based Disaster Risk Reduction.
People Management Scope (Range of no. of Direct Reports): 510
