Job Description
Speechlanguage pathologists diagnose assess and treat human communication disorders including speech fluency language voice and swallowing disorders. Audiologists and speechlanguage pathologists are employed in hospitals community and public health centres extended care facilities day clinics rehabilitation centres and educational institutions or may work in private practice. Audiologists and speechlanguage pathologists who are supervisors are included in this unit group.

- Location: Batavia NY (Located between Buffalo NY & Rochester NY off the NYS Thruway).
- Specializes in the assessment diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders and swallowing difficulties. They work with clients recovering from strokes or other medical conditions affecting their speech and language abilities.
- In Batavia they employ a range of therapeutic techniques tailored to individual needs focusing on improving articulation language comprehension voice modulation and fluency. Additionally they collaborate with families to develop comprehensive communication strategies that enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
- With a strong commitment to community health speech pathologists in this Batavia facility may participate in outreach programs to raise awareness about communication disorders and promote early intervention.
Duties Include:
- Evaluate Residents and develop a treatment plan that will meet their needs.
- Choose activities that will help the Residents to carry out their daily works independently.
- Watch the Residents as they carry out the task given to them.
- Observe/Assess the progress of the Residents & prepare detailed progress reports.
- Help in rehabilitating Residents disabled as a result of injury illness or other problems.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment.
- Maintains Resident confidence by monitoring confidential information processing.
- Maintain documentation of Resident care services by auditing Resident & Dept. records.
- Maintains a cooperative relationship among healthcare teams & contributes to team effort.
Requirements Include:
- Graduate of an accredited Speech Therapy Program
- Current New York State License
- Experience is a plus.
