What you will be doing:

• Coordinate and oversee the manufacture of NELCO shielding products and systems for new building construction remodels and additions at the customer’s site.
• Understand and interpret manufacturing drawings and structural steel components as they apply to shop fabrication and site installation.
• Prepare detailed material takeoffs from drawings and drawing specifications for the purpose of purchasing and fabricating.
• Conceptualize engineering and fabrication methods including reading and interpreting drawings and drawing specifications.
• Sequence labor steps to estimate required labor hours equipment and services necessary for fabrication.
• Analyze and qualify vendor materials and service proposals to meet budget and delivery requirements.
• Coordinate freight pickup and deliveries.
• Work with Corporate Project Management to establish vendor and production schedules to meet customer delivery deadlines.
• Manage document control of project documents including incoming internal and outgoing documentation.

Experience you will need:

• Degree in a related field with a background in steel fabrication preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• 25 years of estimating/project management experience in the steel fabrication industry required.
• Experience with computer systems including webbased applications and Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint or Access.
• AutoCAD experience preferred.
• Ability to summarize and communicate moderately complex information in English in various written and verbal formats to internal and external customers.
• Demonstrated knowledge of standard concepts practices procedures and policies related to the field.
• Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or workgroups fostering a collaborative and respectful team environment.
• Knowledge of metal fabrication methods including cutting bending forming and welding of steel and stainless steel.
• Excellent mathematical skills.
