The company provides the No.1 ebook intermediary service in Japan with a market share of over 2200 publishers and over 150 ebookstores. In order to widely distribute digital content such as books and comics domestically and internationally we have mainly developed BtoB ebook intermediary systems that register digital content received from publishers and distribute it to ebookstores. The ebook market in Japan mainly comics will reach approximately 350 billion yen in 2019 and it is a market with great potential that continues to grow.
Our ebook intermediary system continues to be designed and developed based on the early ebook distribution business and in order to support the even greater growth of the ebook market in the future it will be essential to update the system to be able to withstand this growth. In order to contribute to the further development of the ebook market in the future it has decided to revamp its ebook distribution system.
To accelerate this project we are looking for engineers to join our development team.

We are looking for engineers who can contribute to the development of the core distribution system that is central to our ebook distribution business. This product plays a crucial role in connecting publishers and ebook stores delivering ebooks to users and driving the further development of the publishing and content industry. We seek individuals who resonate with our vision of delivering as many pieces of content to as many people as possible and who can participate in the maintenance and development of this missioncritical product that has a significant impact on the entire publishing industry.
Job Description
You will be responsible for various development tasks including improvements and additional functionalities for the distribution backbone system. Your responsibilities will cover a wide range of development tasks from requirements analysis and specification review to development testing release and operation of the assigned functions.
Main Development Tasks
- Development of additional functions
- Backend: PHP Go
- Frontend: TypeScript (React Next.js)
- Cloud architecture planning and construction using AWS
- System performance improvement (performance tuning)
- Proposals and implementation to resolve technical debt
- System maintenance and operation
Career After Joining
You will gain experience in various development phases from requirements definition design implementation testing and release to maintenance and operation. Additionally you will be exposed to a wide range of technical skills in backend frontend and cloud infrastructure acquiring broad knowledge in system development. We emphasizes development from the users perspective so you will also develop the mindset of considering whether you are solving the actual problems of the system users not just from an engineering viewpoint.
Initially we expect you to perform as an immediate asset. Subsequently you can choose a career path as a specialist or as a leader/manager depending on your preferences. This position allows you to select a career plan that matches your aspirations and future outlook.

Minimum Requirements

- Experience in serverside development of web applications (approximately 4 years or more)
- Endtoend system development experience including basic design development and testing

- Experience developing systems requiring high security such as in the finance or telecommunications sectors
- Experience in development with an understanding of existing system architecture

- Experience developing systems adopting SPA (Single Page Application) or SSR (ServerSide Rendering)

Conditions / Benefits
Employment type: Permanent
Location: Chiyodaku Tokyo (Head Office)
Annual Salary: 5.4M 7M JPY
The average overtime work: 14 hours per month. Overtime pay will be provided separately.
Hours: 10:00 19:00 (standard working hours: 8 hours)
- Flexible working hours Start: 5:00 11:00
End: 15:00 22:00
- Core time (11:00 15:00)
However depending on the clients circumstances you may be required to work flexible hours as needed
