Company Overview:
Our client is a leading provider of electrical engineering solutions specializing in innovative design and implementation of medium and low voltage systems. They are currently seeking a highly skilled Lead Electrical Engineer to join their team. Position Overview:
The Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for developing electrical designs for medium and low voltage systems electrical installations and control systems. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of engineering codes power distribution and experience managing projects from concept to completion. This role requires exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review electrical schematics and oneline drawings.
- Design systems including duct banks embedded conduit cable tray grounding and lighting from concept to completion.
- Perform cable sizing conduit and cable tray fill calculations according to the NEC.
- Prepare specifications and select motors transformers MCCs VFDs and UPS systems.
- Review project specifications drawings and vendor documentation for compliance.
- Lead project meetings and collaborate with project management to ensure timelines are met.
- Organize and manage bills of materials and buyout parts/devices.
- Communicate with distributors customers and endusers to manage project expectations.
- Ensure all work is conducted in a professional and safe manner adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain project schedules host internal/external meetings and oversee the entire project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NFPA Articles 70 70E 79).
- Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical is preferred.
- Ability to work in the Kansas City metro area with occasional travel (land and air).
- Strong organizational communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work in hazardous environments with appropriate PPE when required.
- Legally eligible to drive and work in the United States.
