Job Description

ME Medical Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Paediatric Registrar Advanced Trainee.

This position is in a regional Western Australia location.

Fixed Term full time appointment for 6 and 12 months commencing in February 2025 with the possibility of extension.

POSITION PROFILE

This Regional Hospital The Rural Clinical School and WA Country Health Service (Goldfields) is pleased to offer a unique training position for an Advanced Trainee in Paediatrics.

The position is accredited through the Royal Australian College of Physicians is:

  • maximum 6 months of Rural training
  • 6 months Developmental paediatric training
  • 6 months Developmental/community training if position is for 12 months.

The position is based in in a Regional Hospital flying distance from Perth and includes acute emergency Neonatal high dependency care and outpatient paediatrics experience. There is 50% allocation of time to work at Rural clinical school include teaching research academic and remote work. With the opportunity to participate in remote area clinics.

  • You will be working with a team of experienced rural paediatricians and several registrars and Resident Medical Officers.
  • Good communication skills and experience working with Aboriginal families would be of great benefit in this position.
  • Opportunity to participate in Outpatient clinic remote area clinics and including attending Griffith s clinic.
  • 24X7 roster sharing with other junior doctors as first on call supported by consultant second on call including some weekend covers.
  • Inpatient cover for paediatric ward maternity and SCN. Review of ED paediatric patients as required and admitting them.
  • Connecting and visiting with sub speciality clinics at Perth s Children s Hospital
  • Attend multidisciplinary team meetings fortnightly and ward review meetings and M&M meetings.
  • Teaching of Junior staff hospital Resident Medical Officers and medical students.

The position is offered for a 12month term although 6month terms can be considered. The position would suit someone with a passion for Aboriginal and rural health who is planning a career in rural and remote paediatrics.
