Job Description
K2nd Grade Special Education Teacher Position near Schererville Indiana!
During theschool year the Special Education Teacher will be responsible for effectively collaborating with the student s academic support team to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for each student on the caseload. The Special Education Teacher will also monitor student goals and prepare quarterly progress reports.
- Providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans.
- Administering developmental testing programs subjectspecific assessments etc. to assess student competency levels and develop individual learning plans.
- Advising parents and/or legal guardians of student progress communicating expectations achievements and developing methods for improvement or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment.
- Assessing student progress towards objectives expectations and/or goals.
- Collaborating with instructional staff other school personnel parents and community resources to improve overall student outcomes.
- Demonstrating methods required to perform classroom and/or subjectspecific assignments to provide an effective program addressing individual student requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Teaching certification in the state of Illinois endorsed in special education (LBS1).
