JOB DESCRIPTION Basic Qualifications:
At least 5 years experience as a Design Researcher in a business or consulting capacity
At least 2 years experience managing project teams
Have a track record of working with teams of various stakeholders including designers researchers strategists product managers tech partners and senior leadership
Understand the difference between Design Research and Market Research and have experience collaborating on initiatives between these teams
Have experience guiding teams to employ the best research ods for the problem employing strategies to address stakeholder push back
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree or equivalent professional experience
5 years of usability testing and user experience research
Experience teaching: design thinking human centered design design research
Responsibilities
Conduct user research at all stages from discovery to validation using a variety of ods to understand our customers and their relationship to our products
Approach business and customer problems with user goals in mind
Understand and apply the right quantitative and qualitative ods given the cirstances
Actively monitor and yze research data and trends from internal sources academic institutions and industry reports to inform and improve our approach
Collaborate to define intent development testing and refinement of prototypes as well as drive for future design and strategy based on metrics (quantitative and qualitative) gathered
Distill findings into clearly articulated and actionable insights that stakeholders can use
Present research plans and findings with various audiences from designers to
business executives to get buyin
Guide teams on how best to apply findings using illustrative frameworks
Create energy and investment in research by sharing early and often to different audiences
Help designers and nondesigners understand and apply research findings
Effectively manage multiple stakeholders interests priorities and expectations and lead teams to craft a rigorous and relevant research agenda
