Job Description

We at Chefs Bay are currently on the search for a CDP for a client of ours based in Nantwich.

This role is set to begin on 10th November and will last for a period of six months. As the position is within a college environment and you will be working in proximity to individuals under 18 an enhanced DBS check is required. If you do not currently hold one you must be willing to obtain it.

Pay: 16ph holiday pay 17.92ph

Contract: Starting 10th November for a 6 month period

Shift patterns: Any 5 days over 7

Breakfast 5.302.30

AM shift 8.004.00

PM shift 11.007.00

All day shift 8.007.00

Requirement: You must hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one at a cost of 51

**There is no accommodation available so you must be able to commute daily**

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Cook food for service in a highvolume kitchen using fresh ingredients.
  • Organise and prep ahead for future services.
  • Supervise junior staff to ensure quality and correct portions.
  • Collaborate with head/sous chef on daily orders.
  • Maintain full knowledge of menu items recipes and presentation standards.
  • Ensure personal hygiene safety and proper equipment use.
  • Meet deadlines and help others achieve standards.
  • Monitor food expiry dates and storage.
  • Support stock management and monthly stock takes.
  • Manage junior chefs and kitchen istants when sous chef is absent.
  • Batch cook to reduce waste and ensure proper food labelling.
  • Implement firstin firstout food rotation and quality checks.
  • Clean section fridges and kitchen areas regularly.
  • Consult with head/sous chef on daily requirements and events.
  • Set an example in hygiene and cleanliness.
  • Be flexible and proactive in isting where needed.
  • Maintain kitchen hygiene completing HACCP and COSHH monitoring.
  • Promote healthy eating and offer educational advice to customers.
