Overview:
Kroger is seeking a Lead Azure Data Engineer to join their dynamic and fastpaced team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data engineering particularly in developing and orchestrating data pipelines resolving production issues and guiding team members.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data ingestion and transformation processes using PySpark and various data file formats (Avro JSON CSV).
- Lead development initiatives ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met.
- Oversee code quality and enforce best practices including code reviews and unit testing.
- Identify and implement strategies to reduce technical debt and address code vulnerabilities.
- Mentor and guide team members to foster a collaborative and highperformance environment.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate features into broader solutions.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and enhance system performance.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of systems and processes.
- Communicate progress and challenges to stakeholders aligning with business objectives.
Requirement Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as a Senior Data Engineer with a strong track record.
- Proficiency in Python PySpark ADF SQL ADLS Microsoft Azure Azure Databricks and Azure Synapse.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Leadership capabilities and strong communication skills.
