Job Description

Position Title: Senior Executive

Organisation: Singhvi Dev & Unni LLP

Department: Assurance / Statutory Audit

Location: Bengaluru

Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA)

Experience: Candidate with 34 years post qualification experience



What are we looking for


1. To support the Statutory Audit division in matters relating to Knowledge Management Learning & Development Operational Excellence Quality Assurance Marketing/Business Development and Audit Controllership.


2. To carry out statutory audit tax audit financial accounting reviews and accounting advisory services of various clients of SDU across regions.


3. To support and assist foreign firms in their audit function and to carry out audits in accordance with the Dutch GAAP as per their methodology and tools.


4. To lead an initial team of auditor/s to be set up in India functioning under the guidance and

direction of the Partner/Manager of Foreign Firms.


Initially it is envisaged as that equal time will be spent between the aforementioned activities.

Responsibilities:


Will be working with the Statutory Audit Partner on following initiatives:


1. Planning and rolling out Knowledge Management initiatives including measuring the success of each initiative. Contributing articles in social media or journals and other media about researched matters and firm s view on such matters.


2. Drafting the learning and development calendar based on the skills gap and identifying the

training programme (internal or external) applicable to each team member.


3. Providing support on all initiatives w.r.t. Operation Excellence which entails activities

undertaken towards making it an efficient and smart division using the best work practices

identifying avenues for improving timelines preparer and custodian of key documents such as Audit Manual Audit Programme Engagement related documents etc.



4. Quality Assurance practices involving updated Quality Control checklist devising

methodologies for instituting quality checks at work level such that limited time is spent after

the work is over on quality aspects and the deliverables meet the firm s quality standards

identifying newer aspects of quality procedures benchmarking with other good practices etc.


5. Assisting in Marketing and Business Development activities relating to Accounting Advisory services which encompasses drafting proposals and tracking proposals till client conversion including winloss analysis assessing market requirements identifying various service avenues attending various forums for developing connections in the industry and managing prospective client databases. Support in conducting client outreach programmes like round table webinar seminar etc.


6. Project Management of audits to ensure timely completion as per expected quality.

Coordinating with the Manager group and ensuring that the work is steadily performed there are no surprises escalation to Partner is well communicated on a timely basis and each clients issues at a project level are addressed satisfactorily.



In matters relating to the Audit of clients and Audit support Services:


7. Helping Engagement Manager in preparing Audit Plan and Strategy Memorandum for assigned clients.


8. Ensuring that the relevant business understanding in relation to their clients is adequate to plan the audit approach and keeping up to date with all industry specific issues of the client.


9. Resource planning and management of assigned projects.


10. of project as per audit plan and supervision of team members including grooming articled students.


11. Convene periodic meetings (internal / external).


12. Preparing progress report for work status and report weekly to Engagement Manager including timely escalation to Engagement Manager / Partner for resolving conflicts if any.


13. Ensuring completion of audit within the specified time frames budget and to the expected quality standards.


14. Preliminary review of the team members work for factual correctness and supporting

documents.


15. Discussing the preliminary observations / issues with the stakeholders and obtain their

concurrence in a time bound manner.



16. Obtaining and maintaining sufficient appropriate audit evidence and supporting documents including documentation of the audit programme.


17. Ensuring the completeness of the audit file as per the quality policy of the firm.


18. Custodian of all files relating to the assigned engagement.


19. Ensuring timely submission of timesheets by all team members.


20. Ready to travel pan India and abroad for assignments when required.

In matters relating to audit support for Global Firms (in addition to the matters listed above)



21. Perform audit procedures based on requirements of the foreign firm / client.


22. Manage the client relationship and perform frontend client interactions for completion of the engagement.


23. Assist global firms in reviewing the audit procedures performed by the personnel of SDU as per their policies and procedures and issue the audit report.


24. To interact with foreign clients during interim audits independently with the foreign firm / client.















Requirements

Requirements:


  • Chartered Accountant (India or England & Wales) or Certified Public Accountant.

  • Additional qualifications such as Management Accountancy (CMA/CIMA) Company Secretary (CS)Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

  • Relevant Experience: 3 4 years

  • Total Experience: up to 4 years

  • Good understanding and application of Accounting and Auditing Standards (knowledge of IndAS / IFRS / Dutch GAAP).

  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite (at least Excel and Word).

  • Working knowledge of basic accounting software.

  • Quick adaptation to Dutch GAAP and ability to pick up the working styles of foreign firms.
