CDN Engineer

Overview

Key responsibilities

• Designing implementing and maintaining CDN solutions to deliver content efficiently.
• Collaborating with crossfunctional teams to optimize network performance and troubleshoot delivery issues.
• Monitoring CDN infrastructure and analyzing performance metrics to identify and address potential bottlenecks.
• Configuring and managing load balancing solutions to distribute traffic effectively.
• Developing and implementing network optimization strategies to enhance content delivery speed and reliability.
• Ensuring the security and integrity of content delivery through effective CDN management.
• Scripting automation tools to streamline CDN deployment and maintenance processes.
• Participating in the evaluation and selection of CDN technologies and vendors.
• Collaborating with development teams to integrate CDN solutions into web applications and services.
• Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance for CDNrelated issues.
• Documenting CDN configurations processes and best practices.
• Keeping abreast of industry trends and best practices in CDN and network optimization.
• Participating in oncall support and incident response for CDNrelated issues.
• Contributing to capacity planning and scalability efforts for CDN infrastructure.
• Working with thirdparty providers to ensure service level agreements are met.

Required qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
• Proven experience in designing and managing CDN solutions in a largescale environment.
• Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols including TCP/IP DNS and HTTP.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python Perl or Shell scripting for automation.
• Experience with load balancing technologies and content caching strategies.
• Familiarity with CDN providers such as Akamai Cloudflare or Amazon CloudFront.
• Knowledge of security best practices and encryption techniques for content delivery.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve network performance and delivery issues.
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with a detailoriented approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with different teams.
• Certifications in CDN technologies or network administration are a plus.
• Experience in cloud computing platforms and CDN integration with cloud services.
• Understanding of web application architectures and content management systems.
• Ability to work in a fastpaced dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques and tools.
