Overview:
The Hardware & Networking Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and connectivity of an organizations IT infrastructure. They are responsible for maintaining upgrading and troubleshooting hardware and network systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install configure and maintain network hardware and software
- Identify and resolve hardware and software problems
- Implement security measures to protect the network
- Monitor network performance and optimize system design
- Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for hardware and network solutions
- Provide technical support and guidance to endusers
- Manage and maintain network documentation and inventory
- Conduct regular system backups and recovery
- Assess network capacity and make recommendations for improvement
- Implement and manage LAN/WAN connectivity
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Participate in infrastructure design and expansion projects
- Stay updated with the latest technology trends and best practices
- Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning
- Proactively identify and address potential network vulnerabilities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field
- Certification in network technologies (e.g. CCNA CompTIA Network)
- Proven experience in network and hardware troubleshooting
- Knowledge of network security principles and practices
- Proficiency in LAN/WAN protocols and technologies
- Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
- Ability to perform hardware upgrades and repairs
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP and Ethernet protocols
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware HyperV)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
- Understanding of wireless network principles and technologies
- Uptodate knowledge of industry trends and advancements
