Overview
The Purchase Manager plays a pivotal role in our organization by overseeing the procurement process ensuring timely and costeffective acquisition of goods and services. They are responsible for managing vendor relationships negotiating contracts and maintaining optimal inventory levels. The Purchase Managers decisions directly impact our operational efficiency and bottom line.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies
- Identify reliable suppliers and manage vendor relationships
- Negotiate contracts and pricing terms to achieve cost savings
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs
- Assess and mitigate supply chain risks
- Utilize data and analytics to inform purchasing decisions
- Oversee the procurement team and provide leadership and guidance
- Implement and maintain procurement policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or related field
- Proven experience as a Purchase Manager or in a similar procurement role
- Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation and vendor management
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office suite
- Indepth knowledge of supply chain management principles
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
- Strong leadership and decisionmaking skills
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CSCP CPIM) preferred
Work Location : Thiruvanmiyur Chennai.
