As a Junior O&M Engineer in the construction industry youll conquer the world from your homeland. This role offers you the chance to make your mark by ensuring the optimal performance of our client s solar farm and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) assets. You will achieve this through remote monitoring data analysis and collaborating with the Melbourne office and field teams to identify and address potential issues.
Shift: Day Shift 11:00 AM 7:00 PM AEST with an additional 23 hours of coverage back in the Philippines time zone

- Remote Monitoring & Analysis: Continuously monitor inverter performance solar farm health and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) status via a designated monitoring portal.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Download monthly reports analyze data to identify performance issues with the solar farm and BESS and generate reports for the Melbourne office.
- Troubleshooting Support: Assist in identifying and diagnosing operational issues affecting solar farm and BESS performance escalating complex issues to senior engineers.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the Melbourne office and local field teams to coordinate solutions and repairs for both the solar farm and BESS.
- Technical Expertise: Maintain a strong understanding of solar farm operations inverter systems basic BESS operations and basic troubleshooting methodologies.
Requirements
Watt You Need: Key Qualifications for Success
Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
- Strong technical foundation and ability to understand technical concepts and data (Engineering background desirable).
- 12 years of experience providing remote support for Australian renewable energy assets (solar farms or BESS preferred).
- Demonstrated analytical skills with complex data sets (Excel).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining accurate documentation of system operations and maintenance activities.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and industry standards with a focus on Australian regulations relevant to renewable energy.
- Strong communication skills with trade professionals and operational experience within an O&M unit with knowledge of daytoday activities on a renewable energy site (familiarity with Australian O&M practices is a plus).
Desirable:
- Knowledge of control relays and SCADA systems used in solar and BESS systems.
- Experience in the operation and maintenance of largescale solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems.
- Experience with monitoring and analyzing data using Python scripts and Excel spreadsheets to identify areas for improvement in solar and BESS performance.
- Understanding of networking protocols topologies and equipment such as routers switches and firewalls used in renewable energy data acquisition systems.
The following technical questions will be included in the assessment to evaluate your knowledge in electrical engineering and renewable energy systems.
- What do you mean by low voltage medium voltage and high voltage
- What are the different types of circuit breakers you know What does it protect the electrical system from
- What is an SPD in an electrical system What does it protect the electrical system from
- What are the key factors to consider when sizing power cables
- What are the common faults in an electrical system
