The Australian operation of our global client is seeking an experienced Procurement Officer to join their dynamic team. In this role you will be responsible for planning procuring and forecasting the right volumes of materials and products to meet customer demands. You will work closely with supply chain partners mostly based in China ensuring materials arrive on time while maintaining strong relationships both internally and externally. This role requires a high level of understanding of the purchasing process analytical skills attention to detail and effective communications in both English and Phutonguhua with suppliers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities include:
Develop forecasts and schedules to meet operational requirements.
Planing and scheduling orders using ERP/MRP systems.
Procuring goods materials and services to meet cost quality and delivery targets.
Evaluate and improve supplier performance and negotiate contracts within global framework.
Monitor inventory levels and manage deliveries with freight forwarders.
Resolve damaged and missing stock issues.
Ensure health and safety compliance and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs.
Understanding of inventory management Fx rates and landed costs.
Regular reporting and interaction with other functions such as quality.
Requirements
To effectively complete this role you will need;
Degree in Supply Chain Logistics or Procurement.
Clear written and spoken communications in both English and Phutonguhua.
Competent in procurement processes.
Experience across supply chain and material planning.
Advanced Excel skills including macros and knowledge of MRP systems such as Oracle.
Strong analytical planning and negotiation abilities.
Flexible approach within a small dynamic team of purchasers.
