Position Overview: The Senior Director of Sustainability will be responsible for developing and executing Company Names sustainability strategy aligning it with our overall business objectives. This role involves leading crossfunctional teams managing sustainability initiatives and fostering a culture of environmental stewardship across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy that aligns with the companys goals and values.
- Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of sustainability professionals ensuring effective of sustainability programs and initiatives.
- Program Management: Oversee the planning and evaluation of sustainability projects including waste reduction energy efficiency and sustainable sourcing.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including senior management employees suppliers and community partners to promote sustainability goals and practices.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards. Prepare and present sustainability reports to the board and other key stakeholders.
- Innovation: Identify and drive innovative solutions to enhance sustainability performance and achieve longterm environmental goals.
- Education and Advocacy: Promote sustainability awareness and best practices throughout the organization and engage in advocacy efforts to advance corporate social responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Sustainability Business Administration or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- 10 years of experience in sustainability or environmental management roles with a proven track record of leadership and strategic planning.
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks standards and regulations (e.g. GRI CDP ESG).
- Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage crossfunctional teams and projects effectively.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and change management.
- Analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make datadriven decisions.
