Position Summary:
The Machinist operates 25 axis CNC/Automated machine cells as well as standalone machines which requires machine setup including preparing and setting up fixtures and cutting tools as well as loading and adjusting CNC programs and offsets. Competencies include the ability to use more advanced quality inspection tools and techniques such as height and air gauges and bench inspection. The Machinist is able to read prints and has experience with common CNC G and M codes.

- Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
- Perform proper inspections of general tools such as but not limited to height gauges bore gauges profilometer etc.
- Proficient understanding of GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerance)
- Knowledge of machine setup and tool selection.
- Knowledge of machine work settings and toll offsets
- Ability to load and indicate fixtures
- Ability to adjust offsets
- Maintain machine control distance to go
- Maintain accuracy by setting up first run proofing
- Knowledge of basic Lathe Setup
- The ability to operate 2x Lathes simultaneously
- Manage tool wear to ensure part protection
- Maintain SPC Control
- Respond to machining process quality queues i.e. Surface Finish to ensure quality
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- The ability to understand GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerance)
- The ability to setup a machine and basic tool selection
- The ability to maintain accuracy by setting up firstrun proofing
- The ability to operate 2x lathes simultaneously
- Ability to read blueprints sketches drawings manuals & specifications.
- Effective communication skills in verbal and written format.
- Ability to work independently but also as part of a team.
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2 4 years of related experience is required.
- Relevant Certificate of Completion from a college or technical trade school is preferred but not required.
