Job Description

Overview

The Staff Nurse with exposure to Ophthalmology in an eye hospital plays a crucial role in providing specialized care to patients with eyerelated conditions. They are responsible for delivering highquality nursing care assisting ophthalmologists during procedures and ensuring the overall wellbeing of patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessing planning and implementing nursing care for patients with ophthalmic conditions.
  • Collaborating with ophthalmologists to assist in eye examinations and procedures.
  • Administering medications and performing treatments as prescribed by ophthalmologists.
  • Monitoring and documenting patients vital signs and eye conditions.
  • Providing patient education on eye health and postoperative care.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and cleanliness of ophthalmic equipment and instruments.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and care plans.
  • Responding to emergency situations and providing immediate care to patients in distress.
  • Ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of ophthalmic nursing policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Bachelors degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Proven experience in providing nursing care in ophthalmology or eye care settings.
  • Strong knowledge of ophthalmic conditions treatments and medications.
  • Ability to assess and prioritize patient care needs specific to ophthalmology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and demanding environment.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Capability to remain calm and focused during emergency situations.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learning in ophthalmic nursing.
