Job Description
Overview:
The Inventory Product Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the development management and optimization of inventory for the organization. They are responsible for ensuring that the right products are in the right place at the right time to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs and obsolescence. This role is pivotal in driving profitability customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement inventory strategies that align with business goals and customer demand
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels
- Optimize inventory systems and processes to improve accuracy and efficiency
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends issues and opportunities for improvement
- Lead product lifecycle management including new product introductions and phaseouts
- Monitor inventory performance metrics and develop reports for management review
- Manage relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms for inventory procurement
- Implement best practices for inventory control storage and distribution
- Lead and train a team of inventory specialists to ensure operational excellence
- Resolve inventory issues and discrepancies in a timely and effective manner
- Contribute to the development of inventory budgets and forecasts
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments related to inventory management
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory processes and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
- Support product development and selection based on inventory considerations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management or relevant field
- Proven experience in inventory management ideally in a leadership role
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles and practices
- Proficiency in data analysis and inventory optimization techniques
- Excellent problemsolving skills and ability to make datadriven decisions
- Experience with inventory management software and ERP systems
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a highperforming inventory team
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
- Strategic mindset with a focus on achieving business objectives
- Ability to thrive in a fastpaced and dynamic environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory tracking and reporting
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in inventory management
- Proven track record of driving process improvements and cost savings
- Capability to adapt to changing market dynamics and customer preferences
- Professional certifications in inventory or supply chain management is a plus
