As a Data Architect your duties and responsibilities will include designing and implementing data solutions that support the organizations strategic goals. This involves creating blueprints for data management systems to centralise protect and maintain the integrity of information. You will collaborate with stakeholders including business analysts IT professionals and senior management to identify data requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Additionally you will oversee the development and maintenance of databases ensuring they are scalable secure and efficient. This includes monitoring performance troubleshooting issues and optimising queries. You will also be responsible for establishing data governance policies to ensure data quality and compliance with regulations.
Part of your role will involve staying current with emerging technologies and best practices in data architecture and applying this knowledge to enhance existing systems. Training and mentoring junior team members to build their skills and promote a culture of data literacy within the organization will also be a key responsibility.
Lastly effective communication skills are essential as you will need to present complex technical information to nontechnical stakeholders and provide clear documentation of data architectures and processes. Your work will be crucial in enabling the organization to leverage data as a strategic asset driving informed decisionmaking and innovation.
Requirements:
5 years working experience.
Minimum qualification Bachelors degree (BSc BIS BCom or BEng degree) (NQF 7) or IT related field
Relevant MCSE certification/relevant information architect certification.
