Job Description
- The Automation Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing developing and implementing control systems to automate manufacturing processes and machinery. The successful candidate will work closely with crossfunctional teams to ensure the seamless integration of control systems and the optimization of production processes.
- Candidate must be located within Jefferson City Tennessee or be willing to relocate
- Ability to work effectively in a team within a diverse multistakeholder environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and Development: Develop and design control systems for automation including PLC HMI SCADA and other control hardware and software.
- Programming: Write test and debug PLC and HMI programs to control automated systems and processes.
- System Integration: Integrate control systems with existing machinery and equipment ensuring compatibility and efficiency.
- Proficiency with Kepserver
- Project Management: Lead automation projects from concept to completion including planning scheduling and coordinating resources.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve control system issues providing technical support and maintenance to ensure minimal downtime.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for all control systems including schematics wiring diagrams and user manuals.
- Compliance: Ensure all automation systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement automation solutions to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in electrical engineering Automation Engineering Mechatronics or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 35 years of experience in automation controls engineering or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming PLCs (Allen Bradley Siemens etc.) HMIs and SCADA systems. Strong understanding of electrical schematics and control panel design.
- ProblemSolving: Excellent troubleshooting skills with a strong analytical mindset.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
- Certifications: Professional certifications in automation or controls engineering are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with robotics and vision systems.
- Knowledge of Industry 4.0 technologies and IoT.
- Familiarity with CAD software for designing control panels.
- Knowledge of Ignition is plus
