Hours of work: 8.30 am to 5.30 pm Monday to Friday
About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Health and Safety Assistant to join our client s team in Partridge Green West Sussex. As a key member of the Health and Safety team you will assist in ensuring the business complies with all relevant health safety and environmental legislation while fostering a safe and compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the development implementation and monitoring of health safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Conduct regular risk assessments and site audits to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Support incident investigations helping to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Maintain accurate records of health and safety audits incidents and training.
Promote safety awareness across the business through regular communications training sessions and toolbox talks.
Monitor and report on compliance with SHEQ (Safety Health Environment and Quality) requirements.
Liaise with external safety consultants and regulatory bodies as required.
Assist in updating and managing PPE inventory and ensure staff are adequately trained in their use.
Key Requirements:
At least 2 years of experience in a health and safety or SHEQ role ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
A strong understanding of health and safety regulations including risk assessments incident reporting and compliance monitoring.
NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications (or equivalent) are highly desirable.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the business.
High attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety management.
