Job Description

As a System Administrator you will:
  • Provide support during Flagship handovers for nations involved in the Standing Naval Forces (SNFs) which may include deployment to geographical locations and working in small confined spaces as well as lifting heavy weights.
  • Install configure and set up servers on flagships ensuring daytoday system administration of hardware and software for supported systems.
  • Execute preventive maintenance plans under the guidance of senior members and lead troubleshooting efforts as needed.
  • Maintain and update all technical and service documentation related to assigned systems ensuring proper configuration control data reporting.
  • Provide assistance with system fault resolution to the Centralized Service Desk and offer technical advice to other team members.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • At least 5 years of experience in administering testing and deploying applications at both the server and user levels.
  • Expertise in functional applications within Windows and UNIX environments especially in largescale serviceoriented settings.
  • Strong knowledge of database principles with handson experience in database administration and SQL.
  • Proficiency in incident and problem management with experience in resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Familiarity with configuration management and service asset management practices.
  • Excellent working knowledge of IT hardware and auxiliary equipment such as printers and scanners.
  • Training or experience in maritime C2 systems with the ability to operate in both civilian and military environments.
  • Knowledge of current Windows and UNIX/Linux operating systems.
  • A valid security clearance.
You should possess the ability to:
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with IT hardware auxiliary computer equipment and maritime C2 systems.
  • Maintain a close liaison with technicians and engineers while staying updated on relevant technological developments.
  • Lead beta testing for new software versions and provide feedback.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to other team members and assist in fault resolution efforts.
