Position Overview
This position is responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance of solar equipment (gridtied PV and Data Acquisition Systems). The technician will provide support to the Operations and Maintenance team communicate job status and ensure the completion and documentation of troubleshooting and maintenance activities. The solar maintenance technician will support the construction team on a limited basis and participate in jobrelated training. The candidate must possess a strong solar electrical background and have prior experience with gridtied inverters. The candidate must also be able to work in a team complete codecompliant work take on full responsibility for completed work and conduct safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities
. Travel to and from sites in the Southeast (overnight stays most weeknights home on the weekends)
Troubleshooting/problemsolving solar components (central and string level inverters DAS etc)
Communication with customers is key to our success. The candidate will be expected to speak with customers onsite and will be working closely with office personnel and other members of the O&M team.
Reporting must be able to fill out daily work orders document maintenance activities and complete checklists via spreadsheet photography and Work Order Management System
Support construction commissioning activities
Qualifications
Must be willing and able to travel throughout Georgia and surrounding states every week (overnight stays most weeknights home on the weekends)
5 years of electrical and data communications
2 years of solar
5 years of computer skills
2 years of experience in Microsoft programs Excel and Word.
Previous experience in PV installations electrical roof general construction and/or lowvoltage
Experience working with AC and DC systems
Experience troubleshooting and understanding electronic systems building and home automation SCADA industrial networks or data networks
Apprentice or Journeyman Electricians and electronic technicians highly encouraged to apply
OSHA 10 Hour course/First Aid strongly preferred
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs comfortably lift 50 pounds and must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time
Must have a valid drivers license and be able to pass a substance abuse screening
High School Diploma/GED required. BA/BS preferred.
Physical Requirements
Stand or walk for long periods of time.
Use arms and hands to reach for handle or manipulate objects.
Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance.
Climb up and down ladders scaffolds and other objects.
Stoop kneel crouch and crawl.
See well (naturally or with correction).
Eyehand coordination.
Good physical fitness.
Good sense of balance.
Work at great heights.
