Job Description
Overview:
The IBM HPC and Spectrum Symphony Engineer plays a crucial role in designing implementing and maintaining highperformance computing (HPC) solutions utilizing IBM Spectrum Symphony. This individual is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the HPC environment optimizing performance and collaborating with crossfunctional teams to meet the organizations computational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing deploying and managing IBM HPC clusters and associated infrastructure.
- Configuring and optimizing IBM Spectrum Symphony for largescale parallel computing workloads.
- Monitoring system performance and capacity planning for HPC resources.
- Developing and implementing automation scripts for repetitive tasks using scripting languages.
- Collaborating with application and infrastructure teams to integrate HPC technology into business solutions.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance for HPC and Spectrum Symphonyrelated issues.
- Performing routine maintenance and applying updates to HPC systems.
- Participating in disaster recovery planning and for HPC infrastructure.
- Conducting performance tuning and optimization of HPC applications and workflows.
- Documenting HPC architecture processes and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and deploying IBM HPC clusters and Spectrum Symphony solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in systems administration and optimization of HPC environments.
- Familiarity with parallel file systems and storage technologies.
- Proficiency in performance tuning and optimization of HPC applications.
- Strong scripting skills with languages such as Python Bash or Perl.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a crossfunctional team environment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving abilities related to HPC systems.
- Good understanding of networking concepts and technologies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
