Overview

Key responsibilities
- Performing phacoemulsification cataract surgery to remove clouded lenses
- Conducting comprehensive eye examinations diagnosing eye conditions and developing treatment plans
- Managing pre and postoperative care for surgical patients
- Participating in multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide coordinated patient care
- Utilizing advanced surgical techniques and technology to ensure optimal surgical outcomes
- Adhering to ethical and professional standards in patient care and communication
- Collaborating with optometrists opticians and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care
- Participating in continuing medical education and staying abreast of latest advancements in ophthalmology

Required qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Completion of ophthalmology residency program
- Board certification or eligibility for certification in ophthalmology
- Demonstrated surgical expertise and experience in phacoemulsification surgery
- Valid medical license and eligibility for licensure in the state/region of practice
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in ophthalmology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient care and collaboration with healthcare professionals
