Job Description

Overview:

As a Certified Caregiver you will play a crucial role in providing essential care and support to individuals who require assistance with daily activities. Your compassionate and empathetic nature will be key in ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of those you care for. This role is vital in upholding the quality of life and dignity of individuals in need of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing grooming and dressing
  • Providing medication reminders and assistance with prescribed treatments
  • Supporting individuals with mobility challenges
  • Preparing nutritious meals and assisting with feeding if necessary
  • Engaging in meaningful activities and companionship
  • Monitoring and reporting changes in clients health or behavior
  • Assisting with household chores and light housekeeping
  • Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for individuals under your care
  • Communicating effectively with clients their families and healthcare professionals
  • Following care plans and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Offering emotional support and a listening ear
  • Adhering to ethical and professional standards of care
  • Participating in ongoing training and skill development
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team
  • Adapting to the changing needs of clients

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification as a caregiver or nursing assistant
  • Demonstrated experience in providing personal care and support
  • Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR
  • Understanding of health and safety practices in a caregiving setting
  • Ability to handle medical emergencies and crisis situations calmly
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy and patience in dealing with individuals with diverse needs
  • Reliability trustworthiness and a responsible demeanor
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move clients if required
  • Respect for client confidentiality and privacy
  • Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to work various shifts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
  • Clear background check and TB screening
  • Valid driver s license and reliable transportation if applicable
