Overview: A Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a pivotal role in the healthcare sector by providing essential support to physicians and other healthcare professionals. As a CMA you are at the frontline of patient interaction assisting with examinations procedures and the overall healthcare process. Your duties will include taking vital signs preparing patients for examinations and managing medical records. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examination by explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Take and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure temperature and weight.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures ensuring a sterile environment.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage followup visits.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist in the collection of specimens.
- Maintain and update patient medical records in electronic health systems.
- Manage front office duties including billing and insurance processing.
- Educate patients about medication treatment plans and preventative care.
- Participate in patient checkin and checkout processes to enhance the flow of the clinic.
- Handle patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Keep examination rooms clean and ready for use between patients.
- Support the healthcare team in managing daily tasks and emergencies.
- Stay current with medical terminology technologies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Certification from a recognized body (such as AAMA or AMT).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
- Understanding of insurance billing procedures.
- Familiarity with basic laboratory procedures and techniques.

Must Haves:
- Minimum of 1 year working in a Healthcare Clinic Setting
