Job Description
Overview:
The IBM HPC and Spectrum Symphony Engineer plays a crucial role in designing implementing and managing highperformance computing (HPC) solutions using IBM Spectrum Symphony. They are responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of HPC infrastructure to support the organizations computational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing HPC solutions using IBM Spectrum Symphony
- Managing and maintaining the HPC infrastructure for optimal performance
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand computational requirements
- Optimizing job scheduling and resource management
- Implementing performance tuning and capacity planning
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to HPC systems
- Providing technical support and guidance to endusers
- Developing and maintaining documentation for HPC systems and processes
- Staying updated with the latest HPC technologies and best practices
- Participating in infrastructure upgrade and expansion projects
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in designing and implementing HPC solutions with IBM Spectrum Symphony
- Strong knowledge of highperformance computing technologies and architectures
- Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems administration
- Experience in job scheduling and resource management for HPC
- Solid understanding of parallel file systems and storage technologies
- Excellent troubleshooting and problemsolving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical concepts clearly
- Relevant certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator Spectrum Symphony
- Experience in infrastructure management and capacity planning
- Familiarity with performance tuning and optimization techniques
- Strong scripting and automation skills using tools like Bash Python or Perl
- Knowledge of networking and interconnect technologies for HPC
- Ability to adapt to changing technology landscapes and business needs
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
