My client is a prominent and highly successful chain of Convenience retail shops soon to be part of a global forecourt chain is looking to hire an experienced Food Retail Manager to join their team. A passionate foodie background in either a cafe deli shop catering chef or ideally someone working in a shop delicatessen department already you would be ideal for this job.
This is a vibrant busy retail shop part of a modern retail group that has expanded and invested significantly in their fresh food departments. Typically earlys shifts such as 6/7 and 8 am and occasional Sunday work. Our client will offer up to 36000 a year salary for a 43hour contract or pro rota conditions DOE.

The ideal candidate for this Retail Deli Manager Job:
- Previous experience working with food in a busy high pressured environment
- Strong with stock control experience placing orders for different fresh food produce.
- Holding high standards in your expectations of customer service cleanliness and merchandising fresh food displays.
- Strong organisational skills
- Be able to work both in a team and on your own initiative
- Must be competent with food safety and HACCP requirements.
Responsibilities for this Retail Deli Manager Job:
- Oversee the running of busy delicatessen department readymade meals hot counter cold food offering and salad bar
- Responsible for up to 35 staff members organizing work to be completed on time and supervising the quality of peoples work.
- Ensuring the department has the correct amounts of stock to trade for the week using technology liaising with the retail manager to review sales reports to analyze stock levels and reduce waste and shrinkage.
- Staying on top of all food safety protocols like hygiene records and HACCP records
- Maintaining the standards across all your assigned departments ensuring your teams know the expectation of work required of them
- Training and coaching deli staff to ensure they follow procedures and excel in their roles to increase department performances
