The Operations Project Manager is responsible for leading key initiatives aimed at optimizing operational efficiency. This role involves developing and executing strategic plans managing resources and ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. The Project Manager works closely with crossfunctional teams to drive improvements in inventory management and align operations with business objectives.
The Challenges
Project Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
- Develops and manages project plans timelines and budgets for inventoryrelated initiatives.
- Leads and motivates crossfunctional teams including logistics specialists engineers and thirdparty logistics (3PL) partners.
- Delegates tasks effectively monitors progress and addresses challenges as they arise.
- Ensures clear communication and collaboration across all project stakeholders.
- Identifies and mitigates project risks developing contingency plans as necessary.
- Manages customer relationships supporting issue resolution and incorporating feedback.
Inventory Optimization:
- Analyzes current inventory operations to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements cost reduction and risk mitigation.
- Develops and implements strategies to optimize inventory placement storage and rotation procedures.
- Collaborates with logistics planners and analysts to ensure optimal allocation of resources including warehouse space transportation and personnel.
- Leads the introduction of new technologies and processes to enhance inventory management.
- Oversees demand forecasting capacity planning and analytics to inform decisionmaking.
Budget & Cost Management:
- Develops and manages project budgets ensuring that expenditures are aligned with project objectives and costefficiency goals.
- Works closely with finance teams to track costs identify potential variances and implement corrective measures when needed.
- Maintains ownership and accountability for project budgets and financial outcomes.
Reporting & Communication:
- Prepares and presents clear concise project reports highlighting progress achievements and any challenges encountered.
- Communicates project updates and status reports to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Delivers engaging presentations to convey project goals strategies and outcomes effectively.
Supply Chain & Risk Resilience:
- Monitors the supply chain endtoend conducting situational assessments to ensure resilience.
- Reports on critical supply chain paths and their impact on relevant stakeholders.
What It Takes
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Logistics Supply Chain Management Project Management or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience leading project and operations teams preferably within the logistics or supply chain industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g. MS Project Agile).
- Indepth understanding of logistics principles and inventory management best practices.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
