The ideal candidate will act as a main point of contact between partners and clients handling client files providing technical advice and leading complex cases. This Manager will report to the partners and also have the opportunity to mentor junior and intermediate accountants.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the preparation of financial statements and review Staff Accountants work.
- Ensure quality control in Compilation and Review Engagements.
- Review Corporate Personal and Trust tax returns and other forms.
- Identify and fix discrepancies in financial records.
- Provide recommendations on reserves assets and expenditures.
- Conduct research and develop tax planning strategies.
- Help with corporate reorganizations.
- Manage Staff Accountants work and oversee engagement costs and billing.
- Mentor and support the professional development of Staff Accountants.
- Manage client portfolios and strengthen relationships.
- Contribute ideas to improve work processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field.
- CA or CPA designation with at least 5 years of experience in public accounting for private companies.
- Strong background in preparing compilations and reviews.
- Experience in leading and supervising staff.
- Knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE)
- Skilled in Caseware and Profile.
