Primary Responsibilities
- Review and prepare federal and multistate tax returns including business partnerships individual notforprofit and trust returns.
- Oversee annual tax provisions and perform tax planning calculations for estimates and extensions.
- Conduct research on complex tax matters summarize findings and propose solutions.
- Monitor and communicate updates on legislative and regulatory tax law developments.
- Supervise train and mentor tax team members including interns and junior associates.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships ensuring exceptional service.
- Address client inquiries and liaise with taxing authorities.
- Handle additional accounting and tax duties as needed.
MustHave Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Stable work history.
- At least 5 years of experience in public accounting preferably with midsized CPA/accounting firms.
- Expertise in handling midsized companies (LLC SCorp) and highnetworth individuals/trusts.
- Uptodate knowledge of current tax laws and recent changes.
- Proven experience in reviewing tax returns (70% of the role).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information effectively.
- Willingness to be handson and work collaboratively in a team environment.
NicetoHave Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license (preferred for those aiming to progress to partner).
- Proficiency in software such as:
- QuickBooks Desktop and Online.
- Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
- CCH ProSystem FX or Axcess Tax.
- Caseware.
