Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department.
• Assess plan implement and evaluate patient care based on individual needs.
• Start IVs and administer medications as prescribed.
• Monitor and document patient status and responses to treatment.
• Collaborate with physicians midlevel providers and other healthcare team members.
• Participate in emergency procedures as required.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in patient care.

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in North Dakota or compact state.
• Required certifications: BLS ACLS ENPC (PALS preferred).
• Previous emergency nursing experience preferred.
• Strong critical thinking time management and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment.

Work Environment:

• Level 5 Trauma Center with 4 ER beds and 2 Trauma Bays.
• Patient load averages between 615 patients per day.
• Staffing includes midlevel providers (NPs) available inhouse 24/7.
• Charge Nurse serves as Patient Care Coordinator with backup assistance to Med/Surg when needed.

Shift Information:

• Schedule: Selfscheduling with guidelines for 12hour shifts (6:45 PM 7:15 AM).
• Weekend Requirements: 2 out of every 6 weekends.
• Holiday Requirements: Every other holiday.
• Call or standby requirements only during low patient volumes.
