Job Description
The IT Infrastructure Lead is responsible for overseeing the design implementation maintenance and support of the organizations IT infrastructure. This includes network systems servers cloud services and related hardware and software. The role requires ensuring the stability security and scalability of the infrastructure to support business operations. The IT Infrastructure Lead will also manage a team of IT professionals and work closely with other departments to meet organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design implementation and maintenance of the organizations IT infrastructure including servers networks storage and cloud solutions.
- Ensure high availability performance and security of all IT systems and infrastructure components.
- Manage network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls and VPNs ensuring secure and reliable communication.
- Maintain data centers and cloud environments ensuring they are optimized for performance and scalability.
- Monitor system performance and address any issues or outages promptly.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of IT professionals including network engineers system administrators and support staff.
- Set team goals monitor performance and provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment encouraging continuous learning and development.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organizations IT infrastructure from cyber threats.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations standards and best practices such as GDPR ISO or other industryspecific requirements.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Project Management:
- Lead IT infrastructure projects from planning and design to implementation and support.
- Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure that infrastructure projects align with business needs and are completed on time and within budget.
- Manage infrastructure upgrades migrations and expansions to meet the growing demands of the organization.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of a failure or emergency.
- Regularly test and update disaster recovery procedures to ensure readiness.
- Vendor and Budget Management:
- Manage relationships with vendors service providers and external partners to ensure timely delivery of services and products.
- Negotiate contracts and manage procurement of infrastructure hardware and software.
- Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget ensuring costeffective use of resources.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of IT infrastructure including network diagrams system configurations and procedures.
- Provide regular reports on the status of IT infrastructure performance metrics and project progress to senior management
Skills:
- Indepth knowledge of IT infrastructure components and best practices.
- Strong network and server administration skills.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware HyperV).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure) and cloud migration strategies.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of IT professionals.
- Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant certifications (e.g. CCNP MCSE AWS ITIL) is a plus.
- 7 years of experience in IT infrastructure management with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of network architecture server management virtualization and cloud technologies.
- Experience with IT service management frameworks such as ITIL.
- Proven experience in managing and leading IT infrastructure projects.
- Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problemsolving abilities and the ability to work under pressure
