Job Description

This is a remote position.

Scope:
  • Fulltime role 40 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday 7AM 4PM Burbank CA
  • Includes 1hour unpaid break
  • Paid US holidays included

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detailoriented Accounting Manager to oversee and manage the accounting functions of our property management operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property management accounting with specific expertise in managing trust accounts performing reconciliations and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role is critical in maintaining the financial integrity of our company and supporting the overall financial strategy. We are looking to hire a strong candidate who can grow with the company. The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting functions of our property management operations. The Accounting Manager must be well versed in client and vendor relations and adhere to strict time schedules. This position will be responsible for timely and complete work to the standards of the Real Property Management Vision organization. Delivering toptier customer service is always the driving force behind any decision.

The Accounting Manager is highly organized with strong time management skills and an understanding of prioritization. Naturally driven to provide excellent customer service and to instill trust the Accounting Manager is a natural communicator with high attention to detail a strong sense of urgency and a professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities:

Property Management Accounting:
  • Oversee all accounting activities related to property management including accounts payable accounts receivable general ledger entries and financial reporting.
  • Manage late payments and follow up with residents for payment plans late notices post charges on tenant ledgers
  • Manage and reconcile property trust accounts ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review monthly quarterly and annual financial statements for the property management division.
Trust Account Management:
  • Maintain and monitor trust accounts ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and funds are properly allocated.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of trust accounts to ensure compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Liaise with property managers and legal teams to ensure proper handling of s rent payments and other trustrelated transactions.
Reconciliations:
  • Perform and oversee monthly bank reconciliations ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts including accounts payable accounts receivable and trust accounts.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records implementing corrective actions as needed.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management providing insights into the financial performance of the company
  • Develop and maintain key financial metrics and dashboards to monitor the financial health of the property portfolio.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets forecasts and financial models for property management operations.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
  • Develop and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards tax regulations and industryspecific requirements.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during audits providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Foster a collaborative and highperformance work environment promoting continuous improvement in accounting processes.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Associate s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field required; Bachelor s degree preferred.
  • CPA or CMA designation preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 35 years of accounting experience cash flow management and monthly financial reporting
  • Strong experience in property management accounting including trust account management and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with property management software (Appfolio) and advanced proficiency in MS Excel
Skills:
  • Excellent analytical skills with a deep understanding of financial principles and property management accounting
  • Strong analytics skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to handle complex financial transactions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong leadership and communication skills
