Position Overview
The Director Qualified Hedging is focused on researching testing and documenting hedge accounting under US GAAP and Statutory guidance across the organization. This will require investigation of system capability writing of accounting specs and testing plans assistance to IT in implementation conducting user acceptance testing working through open issues with IT and delivery of readytouse accounting solutions in Findur and other supporting systems. The handson development effort will include prototyping solutions coordinating discussions on strategic aspects training those to use the new methodologies documenting implemented solutions and owning results and timeframes to implement.

Responsibilities:
- Manage derivative accounting for qualified derivatives including cash flow hedges fair value hedges and net investment hedges in foreign operations.
- Conduct hedge effectiveness testing for both prospective and active qualified hedges.
- Prepare and maintain Hedge Designation Memos for new hedging strategies.
- Set up and manage derivative systems for new qualified hedging strategies.
- Develop and oversee analysis and monitoring processes for qualified hedges and bond cash flow hedging.
- Support risk committee reporting related to derivatives.
- Test new hedging structures tables and accounting for qualified hedging strategies.
- Lead the development of tools and processes for accounting addressing derivative positions and their impact on the balance sheet or income statement.
- Develop and implement accounting infrastructure for evolving derivative strategies.
- Provide training on new system tools accounting rules and hedge accounting modules.
- Participate in the project prioritization process to improve the derivative accounting platform.
- Support the introduction of new instrument types currencies and hedge accounting methodologies.
- Ensure quality standards for Investment Accounting and resolve reporting and process issues.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or equivalent experience.
Experience & Skills:
- 8 years in insurance accounting auditing or investment accounting.
- Strong knowledge of derivative instruments and accounting.
- Independent project or system management experience.
- Expertise in derivative products accounting theory and business practices.
- Ability to manage complex business scenarios adapt quickly and work under pressure.
- Strong multitasking prioritization and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information effectively to various stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Word and Excel.
