Procurement Engineer / Officer

Job Summary:

The Procurement officer is responsible for managing the procurement process for construction materials services and equipment necessary for road and infrastructure project particularly those under Ashghal. The role involves ensuring timely costeffective and compliant acquisition of resources in alignment with project specification and requirements.

Job Description & Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the entire procurement cycle including sourcing purchasing and contract management for materials and services required for Ashghal projects.

Develop and maintain the relationships with suppliers vendors and subcontractors to ensure the timely delivery of highquality materials and services.

Negotiate with contracts and agreements with the suppliers to secure the s and terms while ensuring compliance with Ashghals standard and project requirements.

Conduct market research to identify new supplier and alternative products that could benefit the projects budget and timeline.

Prepare and process purchase orders ensuring accuracy in terms of quantity quality and pricing.

Monitor and manage the inventory of materials and equipment to avoid shortages of overstocking ensuring a balance between project needs and cost efficiency.

Ensure compliance with Ashghals procurement policies procedures and guidelines as well as relevant local and international regulations.

Coordinate with project managers engineers and other stakeholders to understand material and service needs and to adjust procurement plans accordingly.

Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities including supplier performance contract terms and purchase order and facilitate audits and future procurement planning.

Address and resolve any issues related to delayed deliveries discrepancies in orders or supplier performance ensuring minimal impact on project timelines.

Assist in budget preparation and monitoring by providing cost estimates for materials and services and tracking actual expenses against the budget.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Business Administration Purchasing Supply Chain Management or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement with strong focus on road drainage and infrastructure projects specifically those who managed by Ashghal.

Indepth knowledge in procurement processes contract management and supply chain logistics in the construction industry.

Familiarity with Ashghals procurement standards procedures and compliance requirements.

Strong negotiation communication and organization skills.

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft office Suite.

Ability to work under pressure and meet the target deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Must have previous experience working with major suppliers and vendors for construction sector in Qatar.

Job Type: Fulltime

Pay: QAR5000.00 QAR10000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Doha: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
