Job Description
Fashion designers are responsible for creating original clothing accessories and footwear. Their job duties include:
Researching trends: Fashion designers identify trends in fabrics colors prints and shapes.
Creating design concepts: Fashion designers develop new concepts and mood boards to capture a mood.
Sketching designs: Fashion designers sketch designs by hand or with computeraided design (CAD) software.
Selecting fabrics and trims: Fashion designers choose fabrics and patterns for their designs.
Overseeing production: Fashion designers oversee the production process and collaborate with teams to bring their designs to life.
Giving instructions: Fashion designers provide instructions on how to make the products they design.
Fashion designers should have a variety of skills including:
