The Materials Clerk will be responsible for managing the inventory and flow of materials within the warehouse. This role involves ensuring accurate recordkeeping timely ordering of supplies and maintaining optimal stock levels. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of materials ensuring timely reordering as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of materials received issued and returned.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist in the preparation of purchase orders and ensure they align with company policies.
- Conduct regular stock counts and update inventory management systems.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure the proper storage and handling of materials.
- Prepare reports on material usage stock levels and any issues related to inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures in all material handling activities.
- Support the logistics and procurement teams with administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience as a Materials Clerk Inventory Clerk or in a similar role.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office particularly Excel and familiarity with inventory management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of procurement and logistics processes is an advantage.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification; a diploma in Supply Chain Management or a related field is a plus.
