The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for supporting the financial operations by performing a variety of accounting duties. This includes processing transactions maintaining accurate records and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent attention to detail.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update financial records including ledgers and journals.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant regulations.
- Handle data entry for financial transactions and manage electronic and paper filing systems.
- Assist in preparing payroll and maintaining employee records.
- Provide support during audits and assist with budget preparation as needed.
- Respond to accounting inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or in a similar accounting role.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in MS Office particularly Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Sage).
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting Finance or a related field is preferred.
