Job Description

Position: Project Manager
Location: Houston TX

About the Job

We are looking for a Project Manager with experience in the commercial construction industry to add to our Houston team! The Project Manager oversees and directs all phases of a construction project. This position will design and implement project plans; communicate concerns regarding project cost staffing and scheduling directly with contractors/designers; prepare project status reports and work to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications. We would prefer for this candidate to have experience in K12 construction.

What You Will Do

  • Manage plan schedule and coordinate project activities to meet deadlines.
  • Prepare and submit proposal estimates budget estimates progress reports and cost tracking reports.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes environmental regulations or other regulations.
  • Onsite job walks.
  • Plan organize and direct activities concerned with the construction/maintenance of structures facilities and/or systems.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods.
  • Investigate damage accidents or delays at construction sites to ensure that proper construction procedures are being followed.
  • Prepare contracts and negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with architects consultants clients suppliers or subcontractors.
  • Develop and implement quality control programs and environmental protection programs.
  • Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to representatives of the owner or developer including the administrative staff workers and clients.
  • Perform or contract others to perform prebuilding assessments such as conceptual cost estimating rough order or magnitude estimating feasibility or energy efficiency and environmental and sustainability assessments.
  • Apply for and obtain all necessary permits or licenses.
  • Help supervise constructionrelated workers.
  • Confer with supervisory personnel owners contractors or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures complaints or construction problems.
  • Other duties as necessary.

Required:

  • High School diploma or general education degree required.
  • Bachelors Degree in Construction Management or equivalent field preferred.
  • Experience in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent position.
  • Experience in CSP or Job Order Contract Projects experience in both is a plus!
  • Experience in K12 Construction.
  • Experience in project management is required.
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
  • Proficient computer skills
